Run for one, run for all
The purpose of this 5k Run is to support underprivileged children (orphans, those living in distressed homes, etc.) and low-income families who do not have the opportunity to receive education, limited or no access to food, and the daily necessities of life. FDSF works effortlessly to support surrounding communities by giving them the opportunities and the hope they never had or experienced. For some, this might be due to poverty or displacement; while for others, it might be the unfortunate circumstances of life that led to their present situation.
Through this 5K Run, we will increase the awareness of these issues by running, or walking, miles to become pillars and a voice for those going through these issues.
For every 1 child that is liberated, a generation will be impacted.
This year's run will be taking place on May 4, 2019 @ Bowie Town Center (Bowie, MD)

YOU JOIN THE RUN?
There are several reasons for you to get involved with this spring’s 5k run. Below are a few statistical facts to help you understand the reason behind our purpose and why we are passionate about what we do:
children, adolescents and youth were out of school, representing nearly one in five of the global population of these age groups (2016).
children under five died in 2013, nearly 17,000 every day. The risk of a child dying before age five is highest in Africa (90 per 1000 live births), about 7 times higher than in Europe.
people experienced homelessness. This corresponds to about 0.06% of the total population in the country; 1 in 1,670 Americans are homeless.
